SHOKK Fit Camp
SHOKK and the Furzefield Centre in Potters Bar have revolutionised youth activity with the first youth-only Fit Camp in the area.
This exciting new concept has been set up in association with the NHS Change4Life campaign to increase activity levels in youngsters. Using the SHOKK youth gym as a base, the aim of the Camp was to help young people adopt a more positive lifestyle.
The Furzefield Centre introduced the SHOKK concept in 2006 and it was the very first of its kind in Potters Bar. Much more than just a gym, the facility offers a complete activity solution for young people and features a full range of equipment and programming uniquely designed for this demographic.
With a focus on education and development, each member is given in-depth guidance and advice on how to follow a healthy lifestyle from trained instructors.
SHOKK provides a funky, youth-focused, motivational environment, giving users an enjoyable fitness experience and, most importantly, encourages them to stay active.
As a local supporter of the Change4Life campaign, the Furzefield centre set up the five-day Fit Camp to urge young people to take responsibility of their own activity in the hope they will stay motivated and active throughout their lives. Participants were offered a packed programme of activities, ranging from SHOKK Gym sessions, fun swims, trampolining, games and challenges.
