SRS Leisure recognised at Road to Rio sponsor event
SRS Leisure has been awarded by Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL) for its ongoing support and contribution towards its Sport Foundation athlete fund.
The GLL Sport Foundation (GSF) supports 45 athletes taking part in the Olympics and Paralympics in Rio this year.
Athletes supported by the fund include synchronised swimmer Katie Clark, who will compete on Sunday, as well as Welsh triathlete Helen Jenkins who races on 20 August.
SRS Leisure has worked with GLL for over 13 years providing swimwear retail solutions to its portfolio of centres and contributing towards the charity fund. This year the GSF funding pool is helping 2000 young athletes across a number of sports realise their potential.
Mark Gliddon, GLL Sport Foundation manager, said: “SRS Leisure has supported the programme for many years and it is athletes that have directly been supported by their financial sponsorship that will be competing at the Games. It is also their continued sponsorship that is supporting the next generation of athletes focussed on the Tokyo 2020 Games and beyond”.
Peter Bundey, GLL Sport Foundation chairman added: “Congratulations to all of the athletes receiving awards. We know first hand the commitment, effort and sacrifices they are making to harness their talent.”
SRS Leisure collected its accolade from GSF Patron Sally Gunnell and GSF Trustee Kim Wright at a ‘Road to Rio’ sponsor event in London earlier this summer.
