Spirit to run Boston stadium
The Granada-owned Spirit Health and Fitness has won the contract to run Boston's total access stadium, to be built by the Boston Sports Initiative under the brand name of 'dabsi' - Disabled and Able-bodied British Sports Initiative.
Spirit says the project will include input from health and medical disciplines so that research and development of the latest prosthetics and wheelchair technology can be combined with the nutritional and sports medicine requirements of all participants. Tanni Grey-Thompson, four times gold medal winner at the Sydney Paralympics and an executive patron of the project, says the dabsi stadium will be fantastic as it is the first of its kind in the world to be designed to meet the needs of people of ALL disabilities.
