Sports Coach seeks award sponsors
The National Coaching Foundation, sports coach UK, is seeking top-level sponsor involvement for its awards scheme.
The awards, now in their seventh year, and renamed this year as the sports coach UK Coaching Awards are presented to top coaches across all sports.
“We believe every sponsor in UK Sport should feel that they are putting something into coaching,” said chief executive Steve Parkin.
“This is a unique opportunity to be publicly recognised as being involved in developing sport through the pyramid of coaching in the UK.”
The organisation’s chair, former Olympic hockey coach, David Whitaker, added: “If just 1 per cent of annual sponsorship fees were invested in coaching development, the long-term benefits to UK sport would be immeasurable. Better coaching will lead to better sport, not just for the elite but at all levels.”
The awards – which will boast guests of honour including HRH The Princess Royal, minister for sport Richard Caborn, London 2012 bid chair Lord Coe and England rugby coach Sir Clive Woodward – will be held at the Café Royal in London on 2 December. Sponsorship details: +44 (0)113 274 4802
