Sportscotland grants announced
Sportscotland has unveiled a total of £214,105 worth of funding for three grass root sports projects in the country.
Invergordon Football Club has been awarded £62,605 to upgrade its pavilion. Improvements will include a new changing room and solar panels to be used to provide under floor heating.
Parts of the area around Invergordon FC's ground have been identified as being among the worst deprived areas in Scotland. The investment is part of the club's aims to get young people active and to use sport as a method of improving anti-scoial behaviour in the area.
Elsewhere, Penpont Community Council in Dumfries & Galloway has received £50,000 to assist with the construction of a new multi-use games area at Gadstone Park.
The new facility will be used for a number of sports including football, hockey, basketball and netball.
The third grant will see Nethertown Bowling Club in Dunfermline receive £11,500 towards the construction of a new pavilion.
