Stoke-on-Trent regeneration scheme approved
Stoke-on-Trent City Council (STCC) has approved outline planning consent for a business quarter in the heart of the city, which will feature a range of leisure, retail and public space.
Gener8 Developments has been given the green light to proceed with the initial 50,000sq m (538,195sq ft) of the mixed-use provision as part of the development. Work will now commence on the development of a detailed planning application for the first phase, which will incorporate 10,000sq m (107,639sq ft) of floorspace.
To be delivered in phases over the next 10-15 years, the development site is located behind the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery. STCC cabinet member for city development (regeneration) Mervin Smith said: "The Central Business District is designed to create a vibrant day and night time economy."
