Strategic focus pays off for First Choice
A trading update issued by tour operator First Choice Holidays has revealed that its strategy of focusing on long haul and niche holidays is continuing to pay off.
The operator, which is moving away from the more traditional, short haul package holidays, has reported a 32 per cent boost in sales for its four-star complexes in Spain and Turkey which has helped to raise bookings by 20 per cent in the group’s mainstream holidays sector for 2005.
Winter bookings were up 7 per cent on last year’s figures while internet bookings have also more than doubled and the group has exceeded is online target of four million bed nights.
First Choice also confirmed that trading for the full year would be in line with expectations while preliminary results for the year end to 31 October will be announced by the group on 14 December.
