Unsocial hours still threat to tourism
Unsocial hours are still the biggest threat to recruitment for the tourism and hospitality industry, according to research commissioned by the Tourism Training Forum for Wales (TTFW), but young people are hopeful about promotion and equal rights in the workplace.
`Diana James, director of TTFW, said: 'It is great news that young people now expect equal opportunities in the tourism industry, but before we start celebrating there are some major issues to be addressed.
'One of the key findings of the research was that many tourism businesses in Wales are failing to fully implement equal opportunities policies and the unsocial hours and seasonal workloads cause particular problems for employees with young children.' Details: ++44 (0)29 204 95174
