Welcome Break rebrands restaurants
Motorway service station, Welcome Break is embarking on a major overhaul of its Granary restaurant brand to become 'food connection' areas. The company will invest £5m in the next 18 months converting the 33 existing Granary sites into 'food connection' areas that aim to offer a broader selection of hot and cold meals and snacks, in a brightly designed and decorated open-plan kitchen, with a strong focus on speed of service. Chief operating officer for Welcome Break, Mike Mckechnie, says the rebranding programme is timely: The Granary brand and concept has been established for a number of years and we felt it was definitely time for a complete change of style. The investment highlights our long-term commitment to offer the best food and drink on the motorway network. Three 'food connection' areas have just opened in Oxford, Leicester and Warwick, and four more are scheduled to open by July.
