Working in Fitness results released
SkillsActive and the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) have published the results of the annual Working in Fitness survey.
The report, which can be viewed at www.skillsactive.com, gives the most up-to-date picture of the working reality of the fitness industry, exploring a full range of fitness occupations with details about what the workforce looks like, salary levels, staff satisfaction and training and development. Initial results from the 2008 report show that on average, money spent on training and salaries have increased on last year. However, of the 800 REPs' members who took part, nearly 60 per cent said low pay would be a reason to leave the industry.
A full report on the findings, plus analysis and comments, will appear in Health Club Management magazine.
