We are currently looking for a Trainee Duty Manager. You will be flexible, reliable, possess good communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team.

You will be a self-motivated individual who will be proactive in assisting the Duty Manager in the Centre’s operations; including Leading the Lifeguard team, ensuring equipment set ups and general cleaning duties are completed to on time and to required standard.

An NPLQ qualification is essential with First Aid at Work and an AED qualification being desirable.

Llantwit Major Leisure Centre
Salary: Circa £18,000 per annum

This key role will report to the Centre Manager and will involve the day-to-day management of the facility, taking full responsibility of the centre at key times to include Health and Safety, customer care and managing staff. The post holder will take a lead role in developing and promoting an exciting and innovative leisure programme to increase the usage and profitability of the centre.

The ability to lead and motivate a team is essential. An NPLQ qualification is essential, along with a First Aid at Work certificate. A Pool Plant Operators qualification is desirable along with a recognised Leisure Management qualification, or equivalent vocational qualification.

The working hours will be based on a shift pattern. The successful candidate will be dynamic, be able to demonstrate problem solving attributes and be able to think on their feet. You will be able to manage a team and ensure the sound operation and safety of your team and customers during your duty shift. You will be delegated specific areas of responsibility for which you will be accountable.

The successful candidate should have extensive knowledge of the leisure industry, excellent communication skills, flexibility and a commitment to customer service. This position is subject to a DBS check.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Duty Manager looking to develop their career at a high performing leisure centre. South Moorlands Leisure Centre set in the Staffordshire Moorlands has a 33 metre 6 lane swimming pool, 58 station Gym, group fitness studios, 2 squash courts, 3G football pitches functional training room and Sports Hall with 6 badminton courts.

Reporting to the Centre Manager, the successful candidate will have a passion for delivering customer excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day operation of the centre including health and safety, customer care, financial procedures and leading and managing multiple departments. The post includes working on a shift pattern, working over 40 hours per week. Each Duty Manager post is subject to its own agreed responsibilities.

A NPLQ, First Aid at Work certificate and Pool Plant Operators qualification is essential, a recognised Leisure Management qualification is desirable.

The successful candidate should have previous knowledge of the leisure industry and a good level of experience of working in a very busy wet/dry facility. Excellent communication skills, flexibility and a total commitment to customer service are essential. Successful applicants will be provided with full training in all aspects of this role. This post requires a good understanding of membership retention and sales to assist us to drive the business and retain our existing membership base.

Health Promotions Officer

An exciting opportunity exists within our West Berks Contract

We are looking for an enthusiastic and competent person to promote the Activity for Health exercise referral scheme and its associated health related classes within the West Berks area. The post involves liaising with and providing information to health professionals in both primary and secondary care settings as well as community groups. The post holder will need to build effective relationships with health professionals and have a good knowledge of the Activity for Health schemes running within the leisure centres. They will also work in conjunction with the Councils Public Health and Well Being team to promote other health related schemes such as Walking the Way to Health and the Green Bag Scheme. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate competency of working in an administrative role, knowledge of the latest NICE Guidelines and should have a flexible approach to work. They must hold a relevant Exercise Referral qualification and other health related qualifications such as Phase VI Cardiac Rehabilitation and Postural Stability Instructor.

Buxton Pavilion Gardens is soon to be part of the Parkwood Leisure group, due to an immediate vacancy Parkwood Leisure is looking for an experienced Head Chef to start this exciting contract in January 2019.
The position of Head Chef for Buxton Pavilion Gardens requires strong leadership, the desire and ability to make a difference, a passion for food and solid organisational skills. The Head Chef will manage the quality and standard of food, profitability and the day to day operation of the kitchen. As part of the senior team this role will influence the success of the hospitality operation at Buxton Pavilion Gardens, including the recently relaunched Octagon.

Regular evening and weekend work will be undertaken and the successful candidate will also be responsible for the training of a team of kitchen and operational staff to ensure exemplary customer service standards are consistently delivered. Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential.
Relevant education and industry qualifications will be considered essential to the successful execution of the role. Health and Safety is a vital focus for the company and the Head Chef will have the appropriate level of training and qualification commensurate with managing a large kitchen operation. Additional training will also be provided for any specialist IT systems in use at the venue.
