DUTY MANAGER
Site: Breckland Leisure Centre, Thetford
Salary From £18,000 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Breckland Waterworld and Leisure Centre. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking for a supervisory management position within the leisure industry.

We are currently looking for a full time Duty Manager. You will be professional, reliable, possess good communication skills, and enjoy working as part of a team.

Reporting to the Centre Manager, this key role will involve the day to day management of the facility, including Health and Safety, customer care, and managing staff within a busy centre delivering a wide range of activities.

The successful candidate must hold a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, whilst a Pool Plant Operators qualification is desirable. Previous supervisory experience within a similar role would also be advantageous.

The position will require flexible working hours including early, late, and weekend shifts and subject to completion of a DBS disclosure

Forum Leisure Centre are seeking an experienced Swimming Instructor.

We require an individual who are self-motivated and have high standards. With good time management and the ability to use initiative, the successful applicants will have energy and enthusiasm.

The role of a Swimming Instructor requires an enthusiastic, responsible and hardworking individual to instruct and supervise a wide variety of swimming lessons. Our Swimming instructors are expected to carry out various lessons to a high standard.

The successful Swimming Instructor will have:
ASA Swimming instructor level 2 certificate.
Knowledge of health and safety legislation
Have previous experience of working in the Leisure Industry- this is not essential.
The ability to work proactively and flexibly within the team and work on own initiative.
Excellent communication skills
Experience of dealing with a range of customer queries/concerns in a professional manner.
Be willing to work shifts, including evenings and weekends

Successful applicants will be provided with full training in all aspects of this role.

This position requires a DBS disclosure and the ideal candidate will have obtained their swimming teaching level 2, have excellent communications skills and have a high level of customer service.

Overall role description

This is an important role in Parkwood Leisures strategic plan, helping us to become market-leading in innovation and the use of digital technology. The role will be leading the implementation of our Digital Strategy, linking with our internal IT resource and external agencies during its implementation, as well as providing effective oversight of Parkwood's wider innovation pilots.

Job Description

-Project manage the implementation of our key digital projects, ranging from websites to data systems, using internal and external resource
-Manage the innovation process in Parkwood Leisure, monitoring pilots to evaluate success and recommend further roll out across our sites
-Translating the needs of our teams into IT specifications, particularly through the creation of detailed use cases
-Keeping abreast of industry technological developments to ensure we are fit for purpose
-Monitoring wider technology developments to consider how they could be applied to the sport and leisure environment
-Continually assessing the 'customer journey', both online and in-venue, and driving improvements

The duties and responsibilities of this position cannot be fully defined. The post holder will be required to carry out any reasonable duties and responsibilities to assist the company in its activities.

Skills and Experience

-Experience of project managing multiple complex digital development projects concurrently
-Experience of delivering exceptional customer-focused web design
-Ability to adopt a flexible approach to project management, sometimes 'rolling your sleeves up' to get projects completed whilst also keeping the other plates spinning.
-Experience of project managing the linking of systems through the use of APIs
-Experience of working in sport and leisure is not required, although an understanding of the industry would be an advantage
-An understanding of innovation principles and processes would be an advantage
-Understanding of data protection / GDPR principles

Overall role description

Parkwood Leisure has an aim to become a truly data-lead organisation, continually adapting and improving the business based on key metrics, and this role is crucial in bringing it to fruition. The role will work with senior staff across the organisation to turn our various sources of performance data into valuable insight to help shape our business decisions. This will involve a mixture of report and dashboard creation, as well as analysing quantitative and qualitative business data to help drive our continuous improvement ambitions.

-Producing performance dashboards, utilising data from our data warehouse, for staff throughout Parkwood Leisure
-Working with other staff to understand our current performance and devise business improvements
-Driving Parkwood Leisures continuous improvement programme, using data to identify areas for systematic and controlled enhancement
-Support all areas of the business with ad hoc performance reports
-Work with the IT team to create and maintain a 'single customer view' of the visitors to our centres and venues, combining various data sources to provide a rich portrait of our customers

Skills and Experience

-Creating dashboards through third party products (we currently use Google DataStudio)
Understanding of querying large databases (e.g. SQL / mySQL / BigQuery, etc)
-Advanced spreadsheet skills (Excel and/or Google Sheets)
-Statistical analysis
-Analysing performance trends
-Business improvement methodology understanding, e.g. Six Sigma (desirable)
-Experience of working in sport and leisure is not required, although an understanding of the industry would be an advantage

Situated in South Bristol, Hengrove Park Leisure Centre is a state of the art leisure facility that generates in excess of ½ million visits per annum and has a Health & Fitness Membership base in excess of 3,500. Reporting directly to the Café Manager, the successful candidate will maintain the highest standards of food hygiene and cleanliness at all times.

We are currently looking for Casual Catering Assistants to help support the operation. You will be flexible, reliable, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and enjoy working as part of a team.

Your main tasks within the role will be to assist the Food & Beverage Manager to develop a quality catering operation in order to increase the usage and profitability within Hengrove Park Leisure Centre. To assist the Food & Beverage Leader to ensure the highest possible standards of Health Safety and Customer Care. To work on a shift rota including weekends in order to carry out daily catering operations.

We are currently looking for additional swimming instructors to promote our swim school, deliver engaging swimming lessons to all ages and abilities, and provide exceptional customer service standards.

Our swimming schemes are based on the Swim England National Plan for Swimming and it is essential to hold a Level 1 swim teaching qualification or equivalent. A Level 2 swim teaching qualification, along with a current NPLQ or National Rescue Award for Teachers & Coaches is also desirable, although full training will be provided if required.

You will need to be flexible, reliable and able to work various hours. We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals who can succeed with maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for our customers and colleagues.

Current cover includes Monday to Friday, 4 - 6pm and Saturdays 9am - 12 noon.
