About Us
From its original turnover of £2.5 million, four facilities in Stevenage and 150 employees in March
1998, SLL has developed into one of the UK’s most respected charitable leisure management
‘trusts’. We now work in partnership with four local authorities to improve health & wellbeing across
Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Rutland: Stevenage Borough Council, North Hertfordshire District
Council, Central Bedfordshire Council, Rutland County Council, the Knights Templar School, Silsoe
Community Recreational Trust (SCRT) and the Bedfordshire East Multi-Academy Trust (BEMAT). We
currently, manage a diverse portfolio of 23 indoor and outdoor facilities across Hertfordshire,
Bedfordshire and Rutland with a team of over 1,500, annual visitor numbers of around 5 million, and
a turnover of some £26 million.
By ‘bringing people together’ SLL successfully delivers a full range of wet and dry side activities for all sectors of the community. This range includes: gym, swim, dance, workout and specialist classes, exercise referral and rehabilitation schemes, athletics, sailing and watersports, outdoor activities, boot camps, sports halls, swim school, outdoor pools, racket sports, sauna, crèche, children’s activities, conferencing/events, theatre, concerts and catering.
