£2.6m boost for Newport regeneration plans
Urban regeneration company Newport Unlimited is to invest £2.6m in plans to improve the "environment and vibrancy" of the South Wales city.
Newport City Council will contribute an additional £1.2m in a bid to encourage more people into the city, which is to benefit from enhanced retail, leisure and arts provision. Gareth Beer, chief executive of Newport Unlimited, said: "A number of successful projects have already been delivered in the city and the focus is now on setting the foundation for the future redevelopment at the heart of Newport."
Newport Unlimited's revised Newport 2020 Masterplan is to go on display on 8-9 April at the city's indoor market.
