£2bn mixed use Wood Wharf redevelopment announced
British Waterways (BW) has announced it will be inviting bids from private sector partners to join the £2bn redevelopment of its Wood Wharf area in Docklands.
The regeneration of the 20-acre site, which is directly east of Canary Wharf, is expected to include 3.5m sq ft of commercial space and 1,500 residential units, while detailed plans could be submitted by early 2005.
The closing date for private sector partners is 15 March.
Chief executive of BW, Robin Evans, said: “Our vision is to create a world class development, which significantly contributes to London as a world city. We are seeking a partner of the highest calibre with the right experience in delivering major development projects, a high level of respect in the financial markets and the ability to work with us in partnership.” Details: www.britishwaterwayslondon.co.uk
