The London leg of the 2004 Olympic torch relay will begin at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, home of the Wimbledon Championships, on 26 June.
London is one of 34 cities across the world that will take part in the torch relay for the 2004 Olympics. It will be carried around the All England Club before continuing its journey around various other London landmarks and boroughs.
Chief executive of the British Olympic Association, Simon Clegg, said: “We are delighted to be able to announce the start of the London leg of the 2004 Olympic torch relay at Wimbledon, one of London’s iconic sporting centres. This promises to be a very special day.” Details: www.olympics.org.uk
