£277m Galway leisure plans
Galway-based OKM Architects and property consultants DTZ have submitted a planning application to Galway City Council to develop a £277m leisure, commercial and residential project in Galway City, Ireland.
The 12.5-acre Crown Control site will include more than 9,000sq m (97,000sq ft) of leisure space featuring a 30,000sq ft (2,800sq m) gym with swimming pool, a children’s play area and créche and a 100-bedroom hotel, as well as office, retail and residential areas.
The mixed-use development will be designed around a civic square, which will host cultural and community events such as local markets and art galleries.
Construction on site is expected to start in 2007 for completion in mid-2009. Details: www.dtz.com
