£430m float for Pizza Express owner
Restaurant chain Pizza Express returned to the stock market yesterday, (3 November) following a two-year absence, alongside ASK and Zizzi as part of the Gondola Holdings float.
Gondola was valued towards the lower end of City expectations, at about £430m.
Shares were offered at 320p each but closed 6p higher at 326p.
In 2003, Pizza Express was taken private by a consortium of private equity groups led by TDR Capital and Capricorn Ventures International, who bought the chain for £330m and retain a 51 per cent stake in the company.
They added ASK and Zizzi to the parent holding company Gondola in May 2004. Details: www.pizzaexpress.co.uk
