4D theatre opens at Drayton Manor
Drayton Manor theme park in Staffordshire, UK, has opened a 4D effects theatre in time for the beginning of the 2009 season.
Supplied by Simworx, the theatre, which will be housed in an existing building at the park, offers 3D imagery alongside special effects lighting and Simworx’s Dimensions 4D effects seats.
As well as moving seats, further effects include water spray, air blast, leg ticklers, aroma, low smoke and bubbles.
The attraction also features a pre-show area in which guests are gathered to watch a nine minute film screened on a series of flat screens positioned around the room.
From the pre-show area, guests move into the main theatre where the film Curse of Skull Rock is being shown throughout the 2009 season, with Halloween and Christmas themed films planned for the appropriate times later in the year.
