A salubrious spot in Swansea
The City of Swansea and the Welsh Development Agency has announced funding has been obtained to enable a start this month on the Salubrious Place development in Wind Street.
The £11m project, within walking distance of Swansea Marina and the Maritime Museum, will include a 116-bed hotel - to be operated by Scottish & Newcastle - cafes, restaurants, bars and a multi-storey car park.
Development partner Brunswick Mansford (Swansea), in which Newport Holdings has taken a major stake, expects completion of the project by September 2004.
The Bank of Scotland is providing funding for the development and the contractor is OpCo with the Burgess Partnership appointed as architects. Details: www.swansea.gov.uk
