Awarding organisation Active IQ has announced the launch of its new Level 2 Certificate in Delivering Physical Activities to Children Under 5, which is available from 1 October.

The new course has been designed to provide health and fitness professionals with a chance to develop the specific skills and knowledge required to cater for the under five age group.

Early Learning Goals and personal development are among the six areas featured within the course, which will help learners to promote healthy living to families through safe activities.

Active IQ operations director Suzy Gunn said: "This qualification is ideal for learners who would like to be accredited to work with children under five years of age.

"It's an area that we know has received a growing amount of interest within the active leisure sector, so we wanted to design a qualification that really met the specialist criteria and skillset required to co-ordinate activities with such young children."
