Alba Thermal Springs and Spa in the Australian state of Victoria has launched a decadent body ritual by natural skincare brand Vanessa Megan to complement the facility’s bathing experience.

The two-hour signature treatment, exclusive to Alba, is called The Jewel.

Vanessa Megan created the therapy using her clean skincare products, which were developed after her best friend advised her, in 2001, “You should never put anything on your skin that you couldn’t eat.”

The therapy starts with a facial using the products with 24kt gold and finger lime caviar. This is said to stimulate cell renewal, slow collagen depletion and increase the skin’s firmness. A champagne-infused body scrub follows, exfoliating the skin.

The treatment is combined with access to the spa lounge, where guests will be offered Veuve Clicquot champagne and beluga caviar.

Guests will also have a full day’s access to the spa’s geothermal bathing pools.

The experience is designed for couples and although it will be available all year, it will only be on offer to a limited number of guests each month.

The price for the whole experience is AU$800 (US$524, €488, £389) per person.

Kelly Adair, spa director at Alba, said: “We wanted to create something exquisitely memorable for our guests. The Jewel is an invitation to immerse in luxury, celebrate a meaningful moment and emerge renewed – it's the kind of indulgence that lingers in the memory.”

"At Alba, every treatment is designed as a journey — not just for the body, but for the mind and spirit as well," Adair continued. "By combining geothermal bathing with spa treatments and wellness rituals that draw on natural botanicals and ancient techniques, we create an experience that is restorative, indulgent, and deeply connected to nature."

Alba Thermal Springs and Spa

Alba Thermal Springs and Spa is a destination spa owned by general manager Craig Dodd, with the support of a consortium of investors.

It opened in 2022 in 15 hectares of landscaped native gardens with 31 geothermal bathing pools in Fingal on the Mornington Peninsula. They include a rain pool, forest pools and Eve – the sunset pool. There are also private rooftop pools, salt baths and terrace pools.

Enriched with naturally occurring minerals, all pools are filled daily with geothermal water naturally heated between 37-43°C in underground aquifers 550m below the surface.

The 3,500sq m two-level spa has 22 treatment rooms.

Guests can choose from full-day self-care packages, half-day rituals and individual treatments.

There is also a restaurant on-site, called Thyme, which offers a menu featuring locally sourced produce available all day.

Earlier this year, the property introduced five stand-alone villas and two studio rooms in an accommodation zone called The Sanctuary – for guests to extend their stay overnight.
