Amer Sports to be chopped up?
Finnish sports and fitness equipment supplier, Amer Sports, will hold its annual general meeting tomorrow (5 March), during which a decision could be made to chop the company into parts and sell off some of its operations.
According to reports in the Finnish media, Icelandic investor Thor Björgólfsson – one of the company's largest shareholders with 20 per cent of the company's stock – is looking to oust the current board of directors. It is rumoured that Björgólfsson is looking to replace the board with one that would be prepared to offload some of the group's assets.
Amer's product brands include the Precor line of fitness equipment, Atomic and Salomon skis, Suunto and Wilson.
