Aquapura on track for 2011 launch
Designed by the UK-based architectural group Cláudio Silvestrin, the Aquapura Ceara resort and spa will launch in Praia Balbino, Brazil in 2011.
The 37,670sq ft (3,500sq m) spa will be located on an island in a saltwater lake, surrounded by bungalows, and have eight treatment rooms. Therapies will use local ingredients such as papaya and coconut.
There will also be a number of heat experiences and a 4,240sq ft (400sq m) infinity swimming pool.
Additional Aquapura sites are planned for rollout in Prague in 2011; Monsaraz, in Portugal, in 2012, and Macedónia in 2014. Details: aquapurahotels.com (See the Spa Business Handbook for further information. To subscribe, visit spahandbook.com)
