Charnwood Borough Council (CBC) has unveiled plans to transform Loughborough Town Hall's café into a new art gallery and expanded tourist information centre.
The proposals will see the café area revamped in order to house The Sock Gallery, which is to work in partnership with local artists to showcase work. Meanwhile, the visitor service centre sited in the town hall's foyer will be expanded to offer an improved tourist information service.
CBC has opted not to renew the café and licensed bar contracts when they expire in March, with responsibility for the bar transferring to Loughborough Town Hall itself.
