The team that developed the Riverside racquet clubs, Espree health clubs and Harbour clubs in the UK and Italy has launched its first German clubs, under the new name Aspria.

The flagship Berlin club spans five floors and at more than 90,000sq ft is the city's largest club to date.

As well as a 25m pool, Berlin's Aspria Spa & Sport houses a gym equipped by Technogym, seven dance, spinning, mind/body and fitness studios, a complementary medical clinic and a kids' club.

The spa is also well-equipped and includes three saunas - one specifically for ladies - a whirlpool, steam room, monsoon shower, plunge pool, an ice room and a sun terrace with a view over Berlin.

'We are proud to follow our UK track record and add a high end development in the growing German market to our existing club in Brussels,' says Aspria's CEO, Brian Morris.

The group's first family club opened in Hamburg last month and features indoor and outdoor racquet facilities, a kids' club, a fitness area, a beauty clinic, sports bar, two pools and a yoga area. The 120,000sq ft facility is set in three acres of landscaped gardens and is Aspria's biggest club development.

Aspria has plans to develop further in Europe and has an extensive rollout programme. Details: www.aspria.com
