BHA member wins two awards in one night
The Cotswold House Hotel scored a historic first at Caterer & Hotelkeeper’s 2005 Cateys by becoming the only hotel to win two awards in one night.
The 30-bed hotel in Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire, won the prize for Best Independent Hotel before going on to win Best Independent Marketing Campaign at a ceremony held on Tuesday 5 July at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
Owners Ian and Christa Taylor were praised by judges for the hotel’s innovation, the quirkiness of the bedrooms and overall excellent customer service.
Six other BHA members also picked up awards:
The Chef Award went to David Nicholls of the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, Group Restaurateur of the Year was Mark Derry of Loch Fyne restaurants , Manager of the Year was Stephen Carter, of St Andrews Golf Resort and Spa and the Group Hotel of the Year was City Inn Westminster.
Meanwhile, Cyrus Todiwala of Café Spice – Namaste won the Education and Training Award and Wagamama restaurants won the Best Group Marketing Campaign Award.
