BOA unveils Team GB 2012 Ambassadors
Nearly 30 former British Olympians have been confirmed as Team GB 2012 Ambassadors by the British Olympic Association (BOA).
The ambassadors, which can boast more than 50 Olympic medals - including 27 golds, will help British athletes and Team GB both before and during the 2012 Games. Among the roles to be performed will be involvement at Test Events; motivational speaking; and visits to the Team GB Preparation Camp in Loughborough.
BOA chair Colin Moynihan said: "The Team GB 2012 Ambassadors will create an important connection between our Olympic heroes of yesterday, who have provided us with so many unforgettable moments of great achievement and British pride, with the stars of today and tomorrow." Ambassadors include Sir Steve Redgrave; Denise Lewis; Dame Kelly Holmes; and Sally Gunnell, as well as Roger Black, Sharron Davies and Jonathan Edwards.
