Blackbox-av has introduced the Lightbox 2 Media Browser, a new, second generation, content management system developed for displaying video, images and audio files.

Capable of providing a multi touch interface to audio visual content and archives, Lightbox 2 is a programme in 2 parts. The front end is a fully customisable dedicated browser interface which provides the visitor access to the multi media content.

The back end management function is the heart of the system which contains a media database and all the required settings for the browser(s). This includes 'skin' design and groupings. It is this part of the software that allows users to upload content and decide how and where it should appear within the browser.

The management function can feed multiple browsers which are automatically updated 'on the fly' when new content is added, making LightBox 2 an ideal solution for larger museums and galleries where browsers containing different content in each location are needed. Lightbox 2 also has a sleek design with modern interfaces including 'cover flow', the flick interface popularised by iTunes.
