Bo’ness’ multi-million pound master plan unveiled
Regeneration plans to turn Bo’ness, near Falkirk, into a major leisure attraction within the next decade have been revealed.
The plans are part of the £23m My Future’s in Falkirk (MFF) initiative and designed by Dutch-based ING Group. The plans focus on the town centre, the waterfront and historic harbour and include 53,280sq ft of commercial space which will include restaurants, bars and a hotel.
Councillor John Constable said: “The town’s potential for a brighter future has been shown in the success of our Town Heritage initiative project which attracted a £1.3m grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund this year and the announcement of a £246,000 grant from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).”
Launched in 2002, the MFF scheme hopes to create more than 4,000 jobs in the region and is a partnership of Scottish Enterprise Forth Valley, British Petroleum and Falkirk Council, with support from the ERDF.
