Breckland signs £13m PFI contract
Dereham in Norfolk is to benefit from a new leisure centre as part of a £12.9m Private Finance Initiative agreement between Breckland District Council and new company Breckland Leisure.
The £8.5m centre will feature a fitness studio, aerobics studio, a 25m pool and learner pool and a four-rink indoor bowls hall.
The remaining £4.4m is to be invested in upgrading the Breckland Leisure Centre and Waterworld in Thetford.
Additional facilities will include a fitness studio, a new indoor bowls hall and a floodlit synthetic multi-use games area.
Breckland Leisure has been set up by Parkwood Holdings to operate the facilities, which are due to be completed by summer 2007.
