CIMSPA nets first partner outside of the UK
CIMSPA – the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity – has agreed its first partnership with a non-UK provider.
Beau Sejour Leisure Centre in the Channel Island of Guernsey will now align its training and professional development to CIMSPA’s professional standards.
The centre is the island’s largest community sport and leisure facility, providing swimming, fitness and exercise groups, and a variety of sports, including squash, badminton, five-a-side, basketball, volleyball, netball and softball.
It also has a 400-seat theatre.
Sam Herridge, head of recreation services for the States of Guernsey, said the company was “very proud” to be the first outside of the UK to team up with CIMSPA.
“The people of Guernsey can be assured that the fitness, health and wellbeing services at Beau Sejour are being provided to the highest possible standard,” he added.
CIMSPA chief executive Tara Dillon said: “Our ambition is that all sport and leisure professionals have access to the career pathways and upskilling we are offering, regardless of location.”
