CWCC leisure facilities to transfer to CIC
Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWCC) has announced that the management of its 17 leisure facilities will transfer to a community interest company (CIC) by the end of April.
The not-for-profit organisation will be a subsidiary of the council and will be run by a board of directors comprising members from the public, private and voluntary sectors. Jackie Bryson, Sport Cheshire chief executive and interim board member, said: "The new company will be working on the development of its branding and a trading name in due course."
CWCC sites to be operated by the CIC include Northgate Arena; Winsford Lifestyle Centre; Ellesmere Port Golf Centre; Stanley Leisure Centre; and Malpas Leisure Centre.
