Cameron reaffirms support for relaxing licensing laws
Conservative leadership candidate, David Cameron, last night restated his support for relaxing pub licensing hours in an interview with Jeremy Paxman for the BBC’s Newsnight programme.
Cameron – who is currently front-runner in the leadership contest and was until recently a non-executive director of nightclub group Urbium – said he had consistently backed the “broad thrust” of changing licensing hours, which begins next week, although he did not give his full endorsement to Labour’s new licensing scheme.
