Carnival announces 'comprehensive' safety review
Carnival Corporation, the parent company of Costa Cruises, has announced it is to carry out a "comprehensive" safety review following last week's Italian cruise liner tragedy.
James Hunn, the company's senior vice president of maritime policy and compliance, will lead the review of all safety and emergency response policies.
It has been reported that at least 11 people lost their lives when the Costa Concordia ran aground off Isola del Giglio after appearing to stray from its usual route.
Carnival chair and chief executive officer Micky Arison said: "This review will evaluate all practices and procedures to make sure that this kind of accident doesn't happen again."
