Channel Island’s first casino to open in 2005
The first casino in the Channel Islands is to open in Guernsey in mid-2005.
Following a selection process the island’s government has awarded the first casino licence to the St Pierre Park Hotel.
The casino will be part of a £15m redevelopment of the hotel to be completed over the next three years.
Stuart Pinnell, chief executive of the Guernsey Tourist Board, said: “This is a very significant investment in the islands’ visitor economy, a tremendous vote of confidence in Guernsey’s future as a destination and great news for visitors and islanders alike.”
