Chelsea Football Club has appointed former Liverpool FC managing director Christian Purslow as its new head of global commercial activities.
A spokesperson said Purslow’s appointment is part plans to build the Premier League's "most pioneering" global commercial programme and would help drive the club's strategy to partner with "innovative and market-leading organisations" from around the world.
"The club believes Mr Purslow has the vision and the leadership qualities to help us achieve these plans", the spokesperson added.
Purslow joined Liverpool in June 2009, succeeding Rick Parry. While at Liverpool, Purslow oversaw the sale of Liverpool FC by George Gillett and Tom Hicks to US-based New England Sports Ventures.
