Chief executive to leave Grévin & Cie
Olivier de Bosredon, chief executive of French theme park operator Grévin & Cie, is to leave the company after 17 years.
Bosredon originally started work on Parc Asterix – which is now operated by Grévin & Cie – in 1988 prior to its launch in 1989. Grévin & Cie was then formed in 2001 to facilitate the company’s expansion.
Bosredon is to be succeeded by Serge Naïm.
Grévin & Cie is currently planning to relaunch the 15-hectare New Pleasurewood Hills theme park near Great Yarmouth, UK, which it acquired last July.
It is thought that the park will be gradually reduced in size over the next three or four years, and new rides and décor introduced.
The company is also looking for further opportunities in Britain as part of plans to expand throughout Europe within the next five years.
Grévin & Cie is currently working on French attraction Bioscope in partnership with the local governments of Alsace.
The e62m (£43m) attraction – which will be 51 per cent financed by Grévin & Cie – will focus on exploring different aspects of ‘life and its wonders’. Details: See Attractions Management Q1 2005. To subscribe call +44 (0)1462 471913 or visit www.leisuresubs.com
