Choice Hotels counts the cost of expansion
Choice Hotels Europe (CHE) has reported a downturn in turnover and profits following a comprehensive refurbishment programme. CHE announced a 1 per cent drop in first-half turnover and pre-tax losses of £1.8m.
During the period, the group refurbished and upgraded 18 properties as well as opened a 71-bedroom Sleep Inn in Tewkesbury.
The company currently has more than 500 Choice Hotels in Europe and Scandinavia – many of which are operated on a franchise basis – consisting of four brands – Comfort Inn, Quality Hotel, Clarion and Sleep Inn. Details: www.choicehotelseurope.com
