Cliffwalk attraction for North Vancouver
Cliffwalk - a CA$4.5m (£2.8m, EUR3.2m, US$4.6m) attraction located 300ft (91m) above the Capilano River in North Vancouver, Canada - is to open to the public, today (3 June).
The latest addition to the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park comprises 20-inch (51cm)-wide walkways split into ascending and descending staircases, bridges and viewing platforms. A signature U-shaped cantilever bridge situated above the river canyon is at the centre of the new Cliffwalk experience, which features glass-bottomed decks above the valley.
Marc Luc Lalumiere has managed the Cliffwalk project, having previously built the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park's Treetops Adventure and other properties for the Capilano Group. John Stibbard, the park's vice president of operations, said: "Our vision is to create experiences that people are amazed by.
"Cliffwalk delivers a definite 'wow factor' by offering an entirely unique and exciting way to appreciate the magnificent beauty of the canyon."
