Council appoints Parc Eirias pitch firm
Conwy County Borough Council (CCBC) has appointed sports turf firm Souter Sports to deliver the refurbished stadium pitch surface at Parc Eirias in Colwyn Bay, North Wales.
Work to revamp the venue's pitch will feature the installation of drainage and an integrated irrigation system and will bring it up to standard for international rugby and football. It forms part of a wider £6.5m redevelopment of the Parc Eirias complex, with work having already commenced on a multi-purpose indoor centre led by Wynne Construction.
CCBC leader Dilwyn Roberts said: "This development is a key element in our vision to revitalise Colwyn Bay, and awarding the pitch contract was a crucial stage in the project."
