Haringey Council's executive has agreed to press forward with plans for the restoration and transformation of Crouch End's Grade II*-listed Hornsey Town Hall into a new arts venue.
Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts is to be invited to make the venue its new home, which will open up access to spaces of the building currently closed - such as the assembly hall. Haringey Council has been working with Hornsey Town Hall Creative Trust on the scheme, which will also see a new centre of arts education and training established.
Land surrounding Hornsey Town Hall would be sold off by the council and turned over for housing to help fund the restoration of historic features.
