Councillors to call in Wycombe stadium plans
Wycombe District Council's (WDC) improvement and review commission has agreed to proceed with the call-in of a cabinet decision to back plans for a new stadium at Booker.
Last month, the cabinet approved the Wycombe Air Park site as the preferred location for the Wycombe Community Stadium and Sports Project. However, the commission has found that insufficient work had been carried out before it was decided to exclude alternative sites.
The commission also decided the cabinet needed to explain the circumstances required to override area of outstanding natural beauty and green belt policies. A council spokesperson said the commission's recommendation to call-in the scheme will be made back to the cabinet on 1 March.
