Cross-party group mulls Tropicana future
A cross-party working group established by North Somerset Council (NSC) to explore the future of the Tropicana site in Weston-super-Mare has met for the first time.
The group has been formed to make recommendations to NSC's executive and its strategic planning and economic development policy and scrutiny panel on options for its future use. It follows the withdrawal of two developers earlier this year, which had both submitted plans for the redevelopment of the Tropicana site.
Group chair Elfan Ap Rees said: "Part of the meeting was spent reviewing the lessons we have learned from the past and why previous over ambitious schemes have failed."
