US high-value, low cost operator, Crunch Fitness, has opened its first location in India, marking the brand’s entry into one of the world’s fastest-growing fitness markets.

The new gym in Noida is the first step in a broader development plan to bring at least 75 Crunch Fitness clubs to cities across India in the coming years, expanding the brand’s international footprint throughout South Asia.

John Kersh, managing director of international development, said: “We’re excited to open our first Crunch club in India and bring the brand to the rapidly growing base of fitness enthusiasts in this country.

“India is a dynamic market with a strong passion for high-quality fitness, and now we’re eager to introduce our signature mix of world-class amenities, fun and unique group fitness classes, and our No Judgments philosophy. We look forward to welcoming new members into the vibrant Crunch Fitness community.”

Crunch Fitness signed the master franchise agreement in India in March.

According to the Health & Fitness Association’s recent India fitness market report 2025 India presents one of the world’s most exciting growth opportunities for the fitness sector, where fitness is no longer a niche aspiration, but a national movement.
