Crystal Palace hosts London Grand Prix
This year’s Norwich Union London Grand Prix was held at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre on 22 July, just two weeks before the World Championships in Helsinki.
The event – which is supported by the London Development Agency, SportEngland and Greenwich Leisure – is one of the biggest meetings in the UK athletics calendar, with athletes from across Britain and the rest of the world coming together to compete.
London’s Mayor, Ken Livingstone, said the event was also a great opportunity after the London 2012 victory to showcase British athletics talent, demonstrate public demand for athletics in London and to illustrate that London can host a worldclass sporting event. Details: www.gll.org
