DC Leisure has completed work on the refurbishment of the Brookvale Recreation Centre in Runcorn.

The aim of project was to attract new members to the company’s kinetika fitness facilities.

The £500,000 refurbishment included new changing rooms, an aerobic activity area and a gym to complement the existing swimming pool, sports hall and all-weather floodlit pitch.

“This project flags the first phase of our planned investment to improve the council’s leisure centres locally,” said Tim Hewett, business development director at DC Leisure.

The company won the 10-year contract to manage Halton Borough Council’s centres – including Kingsway Leisure Centre and Runcorn Swimming Pool – in October 2003.
