Management company DC Leisure has completed work on the refurbishment of Brookvale Recreation Centre in Runcorn.

The project was designed to attract new members to the company’s kinetika fitness facilities.

The £500,000 refurbishment included new changing rooms, an aerobic activity area and a new gym to complement the existing swimming pool, sports hall and all-weather floodlit pitch.

“This project marks the first phase of our planned investment to improve Halton Brough Council’s leisure centres,” said Tim Hewett, business development director at DC Leisure.

The company won the 10-year contract to manage the local authority’s centres – which also include Kingsway Leisure Centre and Runcorn Swimming Pool – in October 2003.
