David Lloyd Clubs has announced plans to develop a premium, family-friendly club in Hampton Court, Surrey, at the site of the former Pavilion Club, which closed its doors following the sale on 23 December 2025.

Subject to public consultation and planning approval, the new club is likely to include the usual mix of sporting and workout facilities – a state-of-the-art gym and exercise studios; heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools and indoor and outdoor children’s swimming pools; tennis, padel, pickleball and badminton courts.

For relaxation, there will be a luxury Spa Retreat with an external Spa Garden. The Clubroom will offer food and drinks, with comfortable places to relax, socialise or work.

There are also plans for an extensive family offering including indoor soft play, a children’s activity area and DL Kids Club and after-school and holiday activities.

Stuart Caswell, new clubs acquisition director David Lloyd Clubs said: “We’re delighted to have secured the Hampton Court site, which represents a fantastic opportunity to invest in the local area and create a new premium health, fitness and family club.

“Although plans are still being developed, our ambition is to create a welcoming space that brings together outstanding fitness, wellness, family and social facilities, supporting both physical and mental wellbeing for members of all ages.”

The development will incorporate the latest sustainable technologies and is not expected to open before summer 2027. This is part of David Lloyd Clubs’ ongoing investment programme across the UK and Europe, supported by TDR Capital.

CEO, Russell Barnes, spoke at the 2025 HCM Summit about how the premium brand plans to become ever more premium. You can watch his talk here. This year's HCM Summit takes place on 22 October in London and the programme is already shaping up.
