Construction has begun on David Lloyd Club’s latest site at St Neots in Cambridgeshire, UK and is expected to open in Q3 2026.

Centrepiece of the new club will be the 100+ station gym and group exercise studios, hosting more than 100 classes a week from cardio to mind and body.

Other facilities will include heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools, premium cushioned acrylic indoor tennis courts and outdoor padel courts.

David Lloyd Clubs signature wellness offering, the Spa Retreat, will offer a variety of experiences, including a Himalayan salt sauna, a fire and ice room, a rainforest experience shower, a revitalising citrus steam room, plunge pool, and a swim in/out hydrotherapy pool. The Spa Garden will offer a plunge pool, hydrotherapy pool, loungers and a sauna.

Hospitality facilities comprise a clubroom, business lounge, a clubroom with a family zone and an indoor soft play area for children.

Progressive swim and tennis coaching will be offered for children, as well as after-school and holiday clubs; a creche for children 0-5 years and a special fitness offering for the 8 and overs called Rebels.

Stuart Caswell, new club acquisitions director at David Lloyd Clubs said: “We’re excited to join the new Wintringham Park community and to offer a fantastic health and wellness facility for all ages, as well as creating new job roles for the Cambridgeshire community. We look forward to opening our doors and welcoming new members next autumn.”

The site will also include solar PV systems, as part of David Lloyd Clubs ambition to become carbon net zero by 2030. By the end of 2025, solar PV systems are set to be in place at 90 Clubs.

Hadfield Cawkwell Davidson are the architects, they have worked with David Lloyd Clubs for more than 17 years as lead architect on projects in the UK and Europe.

Huntingdonshire District Council granted planning permission for this site in June 2025 as part of the wider vision to create a healthy and sustainable community.

David Lloyd Clubs CEO, Russell Barnes, will be among the line-up of speakers at this year’s all-keynote HCM Summit. It takes place in Westminster on 23 October. You can book tickets here.
