December sales growth for pubs/restaurants
Some of the UK's leading pub and restaurant operators reported a 9.9 per cent increase in like-for-like sales during December, according to the latest Coffer Peach Business Tracker.
Total sales, which include the effect of new openings, were up 13.7 per cent compared with the same period in 2010. It was the sixth consecutive month in which sales increased.
The Coffer Peach Business Tracker is produced by Peach Factory along with KPMG, UBS and the Coffer Group. It collates the performance data from more than 20 UK operators.
Peter Martin of the Peach Factory said: "Much of the increase can go down to the fact that there was no snow this December, which disrupted trade last year. However, the underlying trend is still encouragingly positive."
